HIS EMINENCE GAUDENCIO CARDINAL ROSALES

We were blessed and humbled by the presence of His Eminence Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales Archbishop of Manila. He was here in Queenstown for two days with four other pinoy priest based in Auckland and Christchurch for a visit and he celebrated a mass in our parish Saint Joseph Church for pinoy and kiwi parishioners. A native of Batangas Cardinal Rosales is a relative on the Mayo side of our family. His mother is a first cousin of the great filipino nationalist and senator Don Claro Mayo Recto. Sa inyo po mahal namin at pinipitagang Mamay Cardinal maraming maraming salamat po at hindi namin malilimutan ang maksaysayang araw na nakadaupang palad namin kayo. The Chans became worried. Finally, the letter came. It was scribbled and could hardly be read, but Mrs. Chan managed to figure it out. The code was "PHILIPPINE AIRLINES". Mr. Chan, confused on why she chose Philippine Airlines, rushed to the nearest store and got a newspaper. He flipped the pages frantically. ...... "Ah! Here it is! " Mrs. Chan grabbed the page and read aloud. Before she could finish .... THUMP!... she fell off her chair... The Airline's motto was... "7 TIMES A WEEK. 4 TO 6 TIMES A DAY. NON-STOP."
